How we vet every developer
Less than 20% of applicants pass our screening. By the time you see a profile, the hard work is already done.
Application & background check
Every applicant goes through employment history verification, reference checks, and identity confirmation before we even look at their technical skills.
Technical assessment
Role-specific coding tests and architecture challenges. We use real-world problems, not leetcode puzzles. Less than 20% of applicants pass this stage.
English & communication interview
A 30-minute video interview assessing written and spoken English, communication style, and how they explain technical problems to non-technical stakeholders.
Culture & reliability screen
We've been doing this long enough to know that technical skills are only part of the equation. We assess for reliability, ownership mindset, and team fit.
What working together actually looks like
Your developer is embedded in your team — not sitting in a separate Lanex system.
Your timezone, your hours
Your developer works Australian business hours by default. AEST and PST (UTC+8) overlap by 3–4 hours in the morning — enough for standups, PR reviews, and real-time collaboration. If you're in the US or UK, we match you with someone willing to shift hours.
Your tools, your codebase
Your developer uses whatever tools your team uses — GitHub, Jira, Linear, Slack, Notion. They join your systems. You don't join theirs. There's no custom platform or third-party portal.
Managed like any team member
You manage the developer's day-to-day work directly. Lanex handles HR, payroll, equipment, leave, and compliance in the Philippines. You focus on the product. We handle the employment.
IP belongs to you
Everything your developer builds belongs to your company. Full IP assignment is included in the standard contract. No ambiguity, no carve-outs.
One invoice. No hidden fees.
Flat monthly rate per developer. No recruitment fee, no markup on salary. You know exactly what you're paying from day one.
Questions about the process
Things people ask before their first hire. More in our full FAQ →
How long does the whole process take?
From discovery call to first day is typically 10–14 days. We have an active pool of pre-vetted developers, so we're not starting from zero when you reach out. Urgent placements in under a week are possible for common roles.
What contract do I sign?
You sign a month-to-month service agreement with Lanex. No lock-in period, no long-term commitment. You can scale up, scale down, or end the engagement with 30 days' notice.
How does pricing work?
You pay a flat monthly rate based on the developer's seniority level — from AUD $4,320/mo for junior through to $7,680/mo for senior. No recruitment fee, no hidden markup. One invoice per developer per month.
What happens if the developer isn't working out?
We offer a 30-day replacement guarantee. If the fit isn't right in the first month, we'll find you a replacement at no extra cost. After that period, standard 30-day notice applies to end or change the engagement.
Who handles equipment and setup?
Lanex provides and manages the developer's workstation, internet connectivity, and backup power. You don't need to ship hardware or manage equipment logistics in the Philippines.
Can I hire multiple developers?
Yes. Many of our clients start with one developer and grow to a full embedded team over time. We handle payroll and HR for each person. The process for each new hire is the same as the first.
What roles can I hire for?
Full Stack, Frontend, Backend, Mobile, DevOps, Data Engineering, QA, UI/UX Design, and Software Architecture. If your role isn't listed, tell us — we have a broad network and can source for uncommon specialisations.
